TDS, SDS and COA: Which Resin Document Do You Need?

Document guide

A catalogue, TDS, SDS and COA answer different questions. Start with the decision you need to make: understanding the range, evaluating technical data, reviewing safety information or checking a particular batch.

The product name, grade, document revision and destination market help SIHE match the right file. Keep the original issuer and reference date with the document when sharing it with your team.

Read the TDS with its test conditions

Check the exact grade before comparing values. A resin family can contain several grades, and a value listed for one grade does not describe every product in that family.

Read the unit, temperature, test method and material condition alongside a value. Typical technical data helps with preliminary selection; specification limits and the requirements for the supplied material should be identified separately. Finished-part evaluation also considers the reinforcement and production process.

If a value or test basis is unclear, send the document title and revision together with your question. The FRP selection guide explains which process and service details help that discussion.

Check the SDS identity, market and revision

Match the SDS to the exact product under discussion, its destination market and the language your team needs. Keep the original issuer details and revision date visible. A newer date on a supplier summary is the compilation date of that summary; it does not by itself update the source SDS.

An SDS contains the product safety information used by purchasing, safety and operational teams. A short summary can help with orientation, but it does not replace the complete applicable SDS. Request the full document for your selected product before purchase, shipment, storage or use.

Request a COA for the relevant batch

A general product page cannot identify a batch result. When a COA is needed, provide the product and grade plus the relevant order or batch reference. SIHE can then confirm the document for that order or batch.

Keep a COA with its batch reference. Use the TDS for product-level technical context and the applicable SDS for safety information.

Prepare a precise document request

  • Product family or exact product, and grade if known.
  • Document needed: TDS, full SDS or a COA for an order/batch.
  • Delivery country or market and preferred document language.
  • The title, revision or reference file you are already reviewing.
  • Order/batch reference for a COA, or the application question you want to resolve.

At the Downloads Center, the general EN/VI product overviews and public supplier documents can be downloaded directly. Select the product there to request its TDS or SDS. For help identifying a grade or a batch document, send a technical request.

Discuss your material requirement

Share your product, process and question with SIHE, or start a product enquiry when your requirements are ready.
