Composite Solution
Composite Solutions for Artificial Stone

UPR selection support for mineral-filled artificial-stone sheets and cast products, based on filler, colour, flow, surface and production-cycle requirements.
Application Scope
Artificial-stone production combines resin with a customer-specific mineral, pigment and additive system. Filler type and loading, product geometry, colour, mixing, casting or pressing conditions, gel window and finishing requirements all influence preliminary resin-family selection.
SIHE reviews the customer's actual production system before confirming the resin grade for supply.
Typical Products and Production Scenarios
Typical finished products
- Artificial-stone sheets and decorative panels
- Countertops, washbasins and cast sanitary components
- Mineral-filled moulded parts
- Representative samples for colour and surface evaluation
Production scenarios
- Mixing and casting mineral-filled formulations
- Sheet, panel or moulded-part production
- Colour, surface and machining trials before scale-up

Customer Case
SIHE2590 for artificial-stone bathtubs and washbasins
An artificial-stone bathtub and washbasin manufacturer had been using its previous resin at a resin-to-stone-powder ratio of only 1:0.6. The bathtubs developed surface-layer cracks after demoulding, and production costs were high. Its washbasins also yellowed over time, increasing maintenance costs.
SIHE supplied SIHE2590 resin and provided production guidance. In line with its production practices, the customer used the resin for bathtubs and washbasins and adjusted the resin-to-stone-powder ratio to 1:1.2, reducing production costs.
According to SIHE’s assessment of this project, no cracking occurred during the customer’s production with SIHE2590, and yellowing over time was substantially reduced. SIHE and the customer now maintain a stable, long-term working relationship.

Common Production Goals and Challenges
- Achieving filler wet-out and workable mixing at the actual mineral loading
- Reducing entrapped air and visible surface defects
- Controlling colour and pattern repeatability
- Managing shrinkage, warpage and cracking risk during cure
- Balancing surface quality with cutting, sanding and polishing requirements
Information Needed for Material Selection
- Finished-product type and geometry
- Mineral-filler type
- Filler loading or the customer's current production system
- Target colour and pattern
- Mixing, casting or pressing process
- Required working and gel window
- Finished-surface and machining requirements
- Estimated demand and destination country
Material Requirements
- Filler wet-out and flow suited to the actual mineral system
- A working and gel window matched to the mixing and forming sequence
- Compatibility with the customer's pigment, filler, additive and mould system after trials
- Shrinkage and dimensional control suited to the product geometry
- Surface and machining behaviour evaluated with representative samples
Recommended SIHE Products
SIHE Artificial Stone Resin Series
Resins for artificial-stone slabs, basins and moulded parts using calcium-carbonate or aluminium-hydroxide fillers, together with confirmed casting, spray-up and hand-lay-up processes.
- Why consider this product
- The current SIHE artificial-stone resin family is the public starting point for mineral-filled sheets, basins and moulded parts where filler wet-out, colour and surface must be assessed together.
- Confirm before selection
- Confirm filler type and loading, pigment and additive system, product geometry, mixing or forming process, gel window, surface target and representative-trial method.
This product entry represents a resin family rather than one fixed formulation. The listed grades and typical parameters support preliminary selection. SIHE confirms the actual delivery grade according to the application and production process.
How SIHE Supports Material Selection
Share the finished-product, application and production-process requirements.
SIHE reviews the production conditions, current materials and reported problems.
SIHE identifies candidate product families or grades for representative evaluation.
Quotation, sample and document availability are confirmed according to the reviewed request.
The automatic acknowledgement only confirms that the RFQ was saved. It is not a quotation, sample approval, inventory or delivery confirmation, or a final technical conclusion. Product and delivery-grade selection is confirmed by a SIHE representative after review.
Technical Documents and Samples
Controlled technical documents
General product information may be shown publicly. Current TDS documents are supplied through a controlled request, while SDS availability is reviewed for the selected product and market of use. SIHE does not promise that every grade has a current document in every requested language.
Manual sample review
Every sample request is reviewed manually. Availability, sample size, charges and shipping method are confirmed against the product, application, test plan, estimated demand and destination.
